“You do?” He stammered. This couldn’t be reality. After all this time of pretending they were just friends, she had feelings for him too. He mentally kicked himself for not talking to her about this earlier. “Well, I guess whatever you want. I mean… I guess if it was up to me, I’d ask you to be my girlfriend but it’s really up to you.” He spoke, his eyes glued to her the whole time. 

Lauren could only nod when he asked if she did really have feelings for him. “Well, if you were to ask me… I would have to say yes.” She laughed, leaning up to kiss his jawline. Lauren was never really ever in a serious relationship, but she could do that with Brian. They had known each other well enough that she was comfortable around him. “Wait, was that your way of asking me to go out with you? Because again, my answer is still yes.” Lauren couldn’t keep a grin off her face.

He adjusted himself on her bed as the small girl cuddled next to him. He wrapped an arm around her shoulder, looking down at her with a smile. Yeah, this was definitely more than just sex. He couldn’t help himself. There had been growing feelings for six years now and he didn’t want to pretend there wasn’t anymore. “Yeah, last night.” He told her, nodding slightly. “Um. Basically, it’s just that…” He stumbled over his words a bit, not really knowing how to say what he wanted to say. “I like you. A lot, Lauren.” Brian finally managed to say.

Did he really just say that he liked her? She never thought she would see the day when he would say it. A smile crossed her face when he told her that. Lauren leaned up to plant a small kiss on his lips before saying, “Good, because I like you too.” she said with a small laugh. Now there was nothing holding back her feelings for Brian. It was like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. “Where do we go from here then?” She asked. Dating? Staying friends who liked each other? She wasn’t sure if she would be able to deal with the last option.

Brian sighed as he sat on the couch in Lauren’s apartment. He would have to talk to her now. He closed his laptop and adjusted himself before he would go into Lauren’s room. What would he say first? He tried to push all of the racing thoughts out of his mind, but it was pretty much impossible. Brian walked over to the door of her room, mentally preparing himself for whatever may happen. Brian opened the door of her bedroom and walked in. Was she as nervous as he was? He jumped up on her bed next to her. Brian knew she didn’t want to get up, so he made his way to her. “Hey.” It was the only thing he could manage to say at the moment. “Can we talk?” 

Lauren didn’t really know what Brian wanted to talk about, but she had a bit of a feeling that it was about last night. She was so unsure of what her feelings were doing. There was always something between the two of them but they had never acted on it other than occasional sex. When Brian walked into the room, she gave him a smile before shutting off her computer and setting it on her side table. “Yeah, what’s up?” She said as he sat on the bed next to her. Lauren snuggled close to him, putting her arms around his waist and her head on his shoulder as she looked up at him. “Is this about last night?” She asked, knowing it was probably true.
